Major UK firm tells job-seekers they no longer have to send in CVs when applying for roles
JOB-seekers no longer have to submit CVs when applying for roles at a major UK business.
Bosses at brewer Molson Coors reckon the common career summary could discriminate by focusing on where a candidate went to school or university.
Instead, hopefuls will undergo task-based psychometric tests to find out how they would react in real workplace situations.
Managing director Phil Whitehead said: “CVs simply aren’t necessary for all job roles.
“They encourage recruiters to focus on details like the school or university that someone went to, that don’t really speak to the person’s true potential.
“This increases the chances of unconscious bias creeping into the selection process and disadvantages those who didn’t get the opportunity to attend a great school or access internships and work experience.”

Molson Coors, based in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffs, brews Carling, Aspall’s and Doom Bar and says the move will cover sales, HR and tech roles.
Tests will include “neuroscientific behavioural assessments”.
Mr Whitehead said: “We believe in finding people who are the right fit for our business that demonstrate the raw talent, drive and inclusive values we look for.
“It’s then up to us to provide them with the training and support.
